Things You Need to Do Immediately

If you've been injured in an auto accident, there's some basic things that you need to know, and need to do right away:

-Exchange Information:

Make sure you get the name, contact information and insurance information of the other driver.

-Call The Police

You must make a police report.  If the police will not come to the scene of the accident, go to the police station to make a report.

-Get Immediate Medical Attention

If you've been injured, go to the emergency room or call your doctor.  Do not Delay.

-Call Your Insurance Company

Most insurance policies require that you notify your insurance company within 24 hours.  If you don't, you my give them a basis to deny a claim.

-Do Not Give A Statement

Do not give a statement to the adverse insurance company.   Anything you say can and will be used against you.  They are gathering evidence.

-Contact Your Lawyer

Every case is different, and although quick answers to common questions can be helpful, you may have additional questions or different details.  Contact your lawyer for a private, confidential free consultation. To learn more about YOUR case, give us a call or fill in the quick consult form.
