What injuries are covered?
In general, you are entitled to receive workers' compensation benefits for accidental injuries that are suffered at work.

Do I have to sue my employer?
No. Workers' Compensation claims are administered at the Illinois Workers Compensation Commisssion (formerly known as the Industrial Commission), a state agency. You do not go to court.
Can I choose my own doctor?
Yes. An injured employee may choose any doctor or hospital at the employer's expense. However, there is a limit to the number of medical providers that an employer must pay.
Should I talk to my employer's workers compensation representative?

After notifying your employer of your injury, you should not discuss your case with anyone other than your lawyer.
